What is BIOS in Laptop Motherboard?

 
BIOS means Basic Input Output System. It is a firmware of a laptop motherboard or in other words a booting software for the system.

BIOS is stored on ROM storage in the microprocessor of the system that uses the BIOS program to boot the system and initialize all the peripherals with proper addressing.

When the power is supplied to the laptop motherboard via the DCIN or Voltin section 19V.
 
The peripheral devices like hard disk, HDMI, VGA, Mouse, External display, Keyboard, Printer, Scanner, etc. are configured with the system with the programs that run from the BIOS firmware EPROM (Erasable Programmable (Read Only Memory). It serves as a bridge between the hardware and the software, enabling the operating system to load and run.

After proper addressing, system BIOS loads OS (operating system) into the RAM (Random Access Memory) from the hard disk.

This is the basic function of BIOS.
